The 4-Hour Work Week by Dr. Tim Ferriss
Charlie’s Book Score – 10/10
If anyone asks me for a single book recommendation to start, this is typically my go to choice. This is one I read every few years and it has helped me tremendously in more ways that I ever thought possible. I credit Ferriss with my evolution and embracing of key concepts in his book (delegation and freedom of time in particular) and thank him for coaching me from afar.
The main theme of the book is it challenges the typical 9AM-5PM, Monday-Friday work schedule.
Ferriss also introduces the concept of mini retirements and working remotely, which are pretty mainstream now in a post-Covid era, but in 2007 these concepts seemed completely foreign. The emphasis of control over your time and location are what define the “New Rich” instead of financial wealth solely.
Delegation, automation and flexibility are key chapters of interest as well. Challenge the convention work paradigm and enjoy a life of freedom. I love this book, and believe you will as well.
