Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes
Charlie’s Rating: 9.3/10
I love Gary Taubes. Investigative reporter who turned into a global leader on nutrition. This book is fabulous and challenges to norm of “a calorie is a calorie”. Gary flips this statement on it head and offers tons of science and data to disprove this terrible belief. Yes, I agree with Gary so forgive me for sounding bias. But I am.
Calories come from fats, protein and carbs… And guess what? Calories aren’t fair. These different types of calories impact our bodies very differently. This book proves these statements and provides data to support that refined carbs and sugar (which is/are carbs) are the reason for our terrible health, not fat. He goes deep into the science of low card diets.
Read this book and take back your health by moving toward a low carb diet.
